BENEFITING: THIRD SECTOR NEW ENGLAND INC
I've been actively involved with Tutors for All since 2010 when I joined the staff. My career has taken me elsewhere, but I am proud to continue to support the important mission of bridging the achievement gap in our schools.
One of the impressive things about Tutors for All (T4A) is how they leverage college students with work-study financial aid and volunteers to tutor hundreds of Boston area kids each year with only a handful of core staff. This model makes the service affordable and flexible, but also can make planning things like fundraisers a challenge.
T4A had an unexpected staffing change and Mark (the Executive Director and my former boss) has been juggling being a new dad to a prematurely born baby boy all year (he's doing fine now!). So, while we were hoping to have our annual kickball tournament in September, the Kickball for All event is not going to happen this year.
Getting the Fall's tutoring programs up and running as designed needs to be the top priority for the team, and while playing kickball and raising money is fun, the kickball part can wait until next year. I'm hoping some of the raising money part will still happen, because the mission continues even without the party.
Please join me in generously supporting Tutors for All!
