The Trails at Jakes Rocks
Organized by: James Decker
The Trails at Jakes Rocks is a purpose built system of stack-loop mountain biking trails being constructed on the Allegheny National Forest in Warren County, Northwest Pennsylvania. The funding for this project is a combination of private individual, local/regional corporate and foundation donation as well as public sector state and federal grant funding. In order to access the public-sector funds private donations are required to be "in-hand". Phase 1 of the project was completed on August 31 with 10 miles of trail opened to the public. These trails are free for all to use for biking or hiking and are professionally designed and constructed to provide opportunities for all skill levels, ages and genders to enjoy peaceful, beautiful outdoor recreation and exercise. Phase 2 of the construction includes an additional 20 miles of trail at a cost of $1.4 million! every dollar contributed will go directly to construction costs. No administrative overhead is collected from any donation made to this project. If you love the outdoors, love hiking or biking...please consider contributing! Thank you.
