In todays world it more and more common to know someone who has cancer. This first happened to me when two of my aunts were diagnosed with breast cancer. Then it truly hit home when my father was diagnosed in 2014 with lung cancer. It is a very tough thing to watch as my role model and mentor goes through the struggles of chemotherapy and radition.
Through my Dad's battle he continues to be my role model and mentor who I have always admired. I watch him in his daily battle with this unforgiving disease and his continuious determination and positive outlook.
I heard about the Ulman Cancer fund from my cousin when she biked accross the United States after graduating college in 2013. When she told me I could contribute to supporting families going though cancer by running the New York Marathon I immediatly signed up.
I chose the Ulman Cancer Fund becasue it is dificult to discover my dad ... my superhero is not as invincible as he was when I was a child. However the idea of watching a child go through this fight is something I cannot even imagine. I am running in honor of my dad and to support all people battling cancer and their families.
Please support me in this worthy cause and feel free to share my story with your friends and family.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide multiple support services and resources for the young adult cancer community, including:
Cancer to 5K - a free, progressive, 12-week run/walk program designed to reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity. The Team Fight New York City Marathon Team directly funds this life-changing program for survivors living in New York City and across the United States!
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at five major cancer centers and remotely via email and phone) that ensures no young adult faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support and resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
Thank you for all your time and effort to help make these programs and our mission possible!
Cancer changes lives…so do WE!
