BENEFITING: The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, Inc.
ORGANIZER: The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, Inc.
As many of my friends might remember, my daughter Kendra biked across the US with the Ulman Cancer Fund two years ago to raise awareness and funding for young adults affected by cancer. I was so completely impressed by this organization and all the fabulous programs they support that I too wanted to join the Ulman group in their fundraising efforts. Therefore, with much trepidation and excitement, this fall I have committed to running the NYC marathon, with the goal of raising $3000. I am beyond excited that Kendra has agreed to accompany me. Below is a summary of some of the programs.
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide multiple support services and resources for the young adult cancer community, including:
Cancer to 5K - a free, progressive, 12-week run/walk program designed to reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity. The Team Fight New York City Marathon Team directly funds this life-changing program for survivors living in New York City and across the United States!
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at five major cancer centers and remotely via email and phone) that ensures no young adult faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support and resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer experience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
Thank you for all your time and effort to help make these programs and our mission possible!
Cancer changes lives…so do WE!
