BENEFITING: YWCA Northeast Kansas
1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. The question, "Why doesn't he/she just leave?" dominates and derails the way we talk about and approach domestic violence. Fear. Shame. Guilt. Isolation. Children. Family. Love. Faith. Lack of resources. Lack of finances. Lack of support. These are just a few of the complex reasons why survivors stay. However, what if we told you that you have the power to change this cycle, to help save a life? By supporting our mission to end the cycle of violence and free survivors from abuse, you will be saving MANY lives in our community and beyond. Because of your support, we are able to to directly serve approximately 2,000 survivors, answer over 2,000 hotline calls, and shelter over 200 adult and child survivors. When you are supporting the YWCA Center for Safety & Empowerment, you are creating change, you are empowering survivors, you are giving a voice to the voiceless, YOU ARE SAVING LIVES.
