BENEFITING: Exploring The Arts Inc
EVENT DATE: Apr 10, 2012
For the past two months I have been touring with a children's show all over the eastern half of the U.S of A. By the end of tomorrow, we will have reached performance number fifty-six out of one hundred and sixty somethin'. Needless to say, my cast mates and I have seen a wide variety of venues and towns and counties and not to mention, at least 1,000 "Main Street"s. Unfortunately, we have also seen very underprivileged kids and communities who are more often than not, excluding Arts programs out of necessity.
So, my goal for this 23rd bday of mine is to raise money for Exploring the Arts. Their mission "is to strengthen the role of the arts in public high school education. ETA's programs connect private funders, individual artists, and cultural institutions to Partner Schools to achieve greater equality of resources and opportunity for youth of all means and backgrounds." One small step in the right direction, eh?
Simple. Give what you can. For every ounce of you that is grateful for your arts education and opportunities, give a dollar. Or ten cents. Either way... it would mean the world to me, and especially to this absolutely wonderful organization.
Ya know, it would be like that moment in Sixteen Candles. Except I'm Molly Ringwald and all you lovely people are Jake Ryan (I certainly don't know his real name). Let's make it happen.
lot's o love,
