BENEFITING: Advocacy Center
EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2011
I am very fortunate to work for a great organization, and would like to support them in their work. The Advocacy Center empowers individuals with disabilities and their families to advocate for themselves and realize their personal goals. We aren't all born with the same abilities, but every one of us has the right - and should have the opportunity - to build a meaningful life.
I've started this project in conjunction with George Eastman House's PhotoFinish 5K, which takes place Saturday, October 1st, beginning and ending at George Eastman House. This will be my first race since breaking my foot last year. I don't expect to win anything -- I am running for myself, for my girls, and, this time, for The Advocacy Center.
P.S. I know the agency's name is misspelled in the link showing who is the beneficiary of the funds raised. Apparently, the name was spelled incorrectly many years ago when it was input into the government system. We are working to fix that, but, until then, the agency is listed as "Advoacy Center, Inc." The Federal ID number is correct, though, which means the funds will go to the right place.
