A Family I have come to know because of a terrible, rare cancer...she's so much more than that, though. Please read her story below...thank you and God Bless.

Beth Andrade is 47 years old. She’s a mom, wife, daughter, sister, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse for 21 years, dear friend to many and today, a Multiple Myeloma cancer patient. Until this summer, her life was like that of any other loving mother, with so much to live for ahead of her. Beth and Dan met while both were serving in the Navy, have been married for 21 years and live in Austin, Texas with their daughter, age 16, and two sons, ages 14 and 11.

After breaking some bones this summer in unlikely ways, Beth was diagnosed with Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, a relatively rare cancer of the blood, or cancer of the blood marrow as it’s sometime called. The cancer has attacked her bones leaving many fissures and lesions throughout her body, and calcium from her disintegrating bones is leaching into her blood leaving her anemic with a compromised immune system.

Multiple Myeloma is a very aggressive disease and there is currently no cure for it. The best we can all hope for is to get Beth the finest treatment possible to strengthen her immune system and to shrink the cancer into remission. Relapses are very likely.

Beth is receiving many types of treatments: radiation, several forms of chemotherapy, steroids, pain medications, etc. and eventually a possible stem cell transplant. Medical and other expenses over the life of the disease are expected to be around $500,000 … after insurance. They need our help, just as we would all need help.

Dan was laid off in 2011 after nearly 16 years of employment and began working on his Civil Engineering degree. Beth’s nursing job has been their sole source of income during this time, financially challenging enough for a family of five, even before her cancer diagnosis. The fact that the family will soon be without the bulk of her paycheck is the devastating reality they are facing in the midst of coping with cancer.

We are rallying together to support Beth and her family: to remove their financial worries, give them more quality time together, and help Beth get the peace and rest she needs to fight this terrible disease. Please donate today. Every little bit helps! You can use PayPal to send your donation to Miracleforbeth@gmail.com.
