Over the years I have been part of group that goes to local hospitals to set up a movie showing in a waiting area of a hospital. We then have the kids come in to watch a movie, enjoy some treats and "escape" for a few hours. While this was a worthy idea, it was still inside the hospital and the kids knew they where just in the waiting area down the hall from their rooms. Well, I decided to talk with nurses at the hospitals to see if we brought a movie theater to the hospital (parked at the hospital) could the kids come to it. It was an overwhelming response of YES. The yes was followed up with, over 90% of them could and it would have to be on the hospital grounds. So the idea of Theater on Wheels was born. Our first mobile unit will be a school bus converted on the inside to a real movie theater. This will give children that have been in the hospital for weeks and months a real "escape" for a few hours each week. You can help us get the first unit ready by donating today. Every little bit helps.
