BENEFITING: Off The Mat, Into The World
EVENT DATE: Jul 28, 2012
DROWN THE CROWN:
Objective: Points are scored by blasting crowns from atop other team's royal family's head. The goal is to take down as many crowns per round.
Players: Each player can be armed with as many water guns as necessary. The group is divided into two teams. Crowns will be distributed at a 1:5 ratio (1 crown for every 5 players). Players who do not have a crown are responsible for defending their royalty as well as taking down the other teams' royal family.
Gameplay: Both teams will start in the "safe zone"/"hobo park"/"dundonald". Five minutes grace period will be given for all players to disperse. After 5 minutes are up, the royal family may be hunted down and sprayed until their crown falls. To gain points, players must retrieve the fallen crown and return it to the safe zone.
Players who have had their crown taken, may volunteer another player to retrieve a new one in the safe zone, or aquire a new one themselves along with the player who has taken their crown.
Timing: The game will run in 3 Rounds with a "Get Even Round" in the safe zone to just pummel the shit out of each other :)

SATURDAY, JULY 28th - SOAKER WARS : BATTLE OF SOUTH CENTRAL EDITION
What's it all about?
Come cool off from the heat by participating in Ottawa's first humongo-scale water-fight! All you need is your own able bodied self, a bathing suit (or clothes you don't mind getting... soaked) and a watergun or some sort of water dispersing device! We are hoping for a HUGE turnout so everyone is welcome! Tell all your friends! This will be massively FUN!
Everyone will meet at Dundonald Park in Centretown Ottawa at noon on July 28 and engage in a team-based water-fight of the likes never before seen in North-America! And the best part, it is all for a charitable cause, that of the Global Seva Challenge, an initiative by Off the Mat, Into the World (OTM), a nonprofit which uses the power of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and ignite grassroots social change.
When do I have to drag myself out of bed?
Noon - 4PM
We will be resetting this wild n' wacky water war every hour on the hour so that people can come and go as they please. You need not participate for the entire 4 hours but you are most welcome to!
Where is this fabulous activity taking place?
Dundonald Park in Centretown Ottawa at 512 Somerset St. West between Bay and Lyon (also amicably known as hobo park)

Most importantly... Why?
First and foremost this is a great way to cool down from the hot hot summer heat... But as a double-whammy of philanthropic goodness, we are also raising funds for a noble cause: the Global Seva Challenge. In 2012, the Seva Challenge will be focused on the issue of sex trafficking in India and worldwide. For more information please visit their official Website at http://offthematintotheworld.org/global-seva-challenge.html
How much dolo yolo?
We ask that each participant donate $5 to take part in the day's activities. Cans o' food are also an acceptable method of donation - thought they will be going to the food bank and not the Global Seva Challenge.
