This spring break I'm going to Cambodia on a school trip. Since 6th grade (I'm a freshman now) my class has been fundraising for the Cambodian Village Fund which is an organization that sponsors girls from poverty in Cambodia to go to school. There are 25 people in my grade going on the trip and each of us has a goal of raising at least $1000. It will be used to pay the tuition for a girl's education in the program. It only costs about $1000 per year to pay for each student. The way to get into this program is that your family must be far, far below the poverty line and you have to be bright. In Cambodia, girls normally do not have the luxury of education unless your family is very wealthy, so this program is life changing for not only these girls, but their families.
