THE STORY:

Former NBA Star and assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings, Bobby Jackson established The Bobby Jackson Foundation at The Giving Back Fund in 2003. Bobby was inspired to start the Foundation in honor of his mother Sarah who passed away in January 2002 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Breast cancer is the second-most common form of cancer among females; 13 percent of American women are diagnosed with the disease at some point in their lifetime. An average of 40,000 U.S. women die each year from breast cancer.

The Bobby Jackson Foundation focuses on the children of cancer patients. The mission of the Bobby Jackson Foundation is to assist children in California who have lost a parent due to cancer or have a parent that has cancer. The Foundation helps children develop coping skills and connects them with other children who are in similar circumstances.
