EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
I don't pretend to know statics about all of the different cancers, but what I do know is that two strong, healthy, young, non smoking friends have been diagnosed with lung cancer in the last 6 months and it is alarming. Many have commented that when I run, I look "mad" or "serious". Well, guess what I'm seriously mad about their diagnosis?! Although I feel like there is nothing I can do about it; there is. I can help build awareness and I can help raise money for those who do know the statistics.
The Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF) is one of the largest patient-driven philanthropies nationwide devoted exclusively to eradicating Lung Cancer through research, awareness, education, early detection and treatment. ALCF works with diverse partners (physicians, organizations, industry partners, thought leaders, survivors and their families) in taking actions NOW in the laboratory, in hospitals and in the public forum that lead to solutions for patients.
I'm running the New York Marathon on November 2. This will be my fourth marathon and in addition to all of your good mojo and vibes, please consider supporting my efforts by supporting this worthy cause.
Thank you for your consideration.
