The Borgen Project is a nonprofit organization that aids in the ending of global poverty by campagining for the U.S. government to make poverty a focus in U.S. forgien policy.
Why do we need The Borgen Project? Startling as it may seem, 2.8 billion people live on less than $2 a day and nearly 1.2 billion live on less than $1 a day. With The Borgen Project, the United States government and you, we can help decrease these staggering statistics.
I feel strongly about allieviating global poverty because I think that no person, but especially child, should live in a place where their next meal is unknown, have unsafe drinking water and barely survive in a war-torn country.
I am so blessed to have been born and raised in a country where we have been given so much. Before interning at The Borgen Project, I all too often took for granted what I have and the opportunities that lay before me; that I can do anything I set my mind too and nothing can hold me back. Not my race, my ethnicity and espeically not my gender.
Please join me in this fight against poverty and donate what you can, even if it's your spare pocket change. A little goes a long way.
