BENEFITING: BORGEN PROJECT
This fundraiser is for the Borgen Project, a non-profit based in Seattle that is working to fight extreme poverty. We do this primarily by raising public awareness and lobbying Congress. I am writing for the Borgen Project's blog this summer and I am learning so much. The U.S. government spends an embarrassingly small portion of its budget on international aid programs. This fact is made even more unfortunate when you consider that increasing this type would actually boost the U.S. economy in the long-run. The goal of the Borgen Project is to convince the U.S. government to direct more money towards international aid programs, and your donations will be a tremendous help. The organization is run almost entirely by volunteers, and operating expenses are kept amazingly low. Clint Borgen, the founder (who is one of the most impressive people I've ever met), has an incredible level of access to powerful people in Washington, and an uncanny ability to communicate effectively. He is a leader in the fight against extreme poverty, and I'm proud to be raising money to support his organization. Please feel free to contact me over Facebook, email, or phone with any questions about the organization or my involvement in it. Thank you!
