Healing women veterans creates spirals of healing that span across generations and gender. When one woman’s cycle of trauma is transformed it allows her to relate to her world and surroundings from the deepest source of her being; that of nurturing mother, sister, friend, wife and leader.
Who among us would not want that for women veterans experiencing trauma as a result of service to our country. Can you imagine the impact this type of healing would have on our children, our grandchildren and future generations of Americans already carrying the wounds of war?
Our goal is to buy a farm and to provide women veterans and their children safe passage through readjustment to civilian life in a community setting. These women veterans have experienced one or more of the following symptoms: suicidal attempts/ideation; homelessness; unemployment/underemployment; trauma and/or substance abuse which directly impact their ability to reintegrate and live productive and meaningful lives.
The Earth-Based Place© is designed to provide gender-specific outreach services to restore self-worth, dignity and faith to women who have suffered crisis and/or trauma as a result of their service to our country.
An Earth-Based© healing environment is a return to the ancient and natural power of Mother Earth. An Earth-Based© model nurtures the Earth as it nurtures the women tending it. Planting seeds, tending goats, nourishing the soil, nourishing the spirit. Respecting Mother Nature is respecting the feminine.
The programs proposed for consideration of funding specifically address the health indicators of women veterans in northern California by providing environmentally sustainable, Earth-Based Place© outreach services for women veterans and their children to heal and to develop their natural creative selves, strengths, skills and abilities.
Whatever you can do to support us will help, Blessings.
