THE STORY:
UPDATE!!!! The CopperBots have qualified for the World Championships in St. Louis! This is the ultimate goal of every team in Robotics! It is a huge honor to be able to participate and the CopperBots needs your help.
The Copperbots from Calumet High School need your help in order to compete in this year's FIRST Robotics Competition. From the team: "We've done all we can to find the means to keep building robots. We have done everything from salvaging scrap metal from recycling bins, reusing all old hardware and wiring from past robots to re-purposing an old garden cart for part of this year's robot, but we still need to cover travel expenses as well as certain tools and parts. We appreciate every cent." This team has really begun to step up their game. They are using CAD and 3D printing to engineer parts for this year's robot as well as precision machining on the metal lathe and Bridgeport vertical mill. The goal of this program is to connect the student's math, science, and computer education and have them apply it to real world problems through a highly technical challenge that has no known best answer. By equipping these students to compete, you can inspire tomorrow's scientists and engineers.
