Still without water!
March 10, 2016
EVENT DATE Mar 31, 2016
This family is VERY near and dear to so many hearts. There are so many that love them and are watching in horror as the family is being side swiped by the devil. I have personally been friends with Rhonda Cathers for over 25 years. She holds a very special place in my heart. As some know, her husband Kevin, has spent his career serving the United States in the military. This family has strong faith in God our savior and a unswaying love for each other.
Kevin is suffering from a progressive disease that is taking his eye sight in a rapid manner. He is unable to drive, at this point, and will have his 22+ years of service come to an end soon. Rhonda also, suffers from a degenerative eye disease that has kept her from ever driving. You can imagine how difficult this makes fully functioning on a daily basis is in normal circumstances. They also have a teenage son with Autism. To keep dignity and a personal respect here, I won't divulge any further into their combined health challenges.
The family has just recently incurred a huge unexpected financial burden with a busted sewage line. They have been 5 days without the use of toilets, showers, baths, etc. They could not afford to hire the entire job out. Each day they have been digging the sewage line out themselves. Not with dozers, or mechanical help. With hand tools, hoes, shovels, etc. the photos and video are absolutely heart breaking for a friend that is over a thousand miles away! RAIN or shine. They have been out digging. Just to tap into the new sewage line is going to be $1500. The plumber that is doing the work that the family cannot do themselves is going to be at least another $1000. Then there is the cost of gravel and other materials. They also, have to bury the pipe once it is laid. As well as, any other unexpected expenses.
Please, if there is anything that you can offer, in the way of a helping hand, monetary means, an ALWAYS prayer, there is not a more deserving family that I can think of to help out. EVERY little bit helps!!! Thank you and may God bring many blessings on you and yours!
Rhonda I hope that you don't kill me! I seriously fought with doing this for fear you would be upset with me.
