Meet Brock. He's 4 years old and loves Legos and Disney everything. Brock and his twin brother were born early, but Brock only weighed 2 pounds, 2 ounces, and spent four months in the NICU. He has Cerebal Palsy (CP) and a year and a half ago was diagnosed with Autism. Additionally, the brain damage from CP causes Brock to have seizures.
Brock goes to Head Start Preschool, which is a place for kiddos with special needs can go to get therapy, be around other kids, and learn. Brock gets occupational and speech therapy, and his parents were told that Brock would need a therapy room at home. Starting January 2016, Brock's doctors and therapists will be coming to deliver his treatment at home, because the traveling was taking far too much out of him. And this, Chivers and Chivettes, is why we're up to bat.
Brock's needs, as recommending by his doctors and therapists, include a certified therapy dog, weighted blankets, and a variety of therapy equipment necessary for Brock to continue to make progress and be safe. Our goal is help the Longmate family raise the necessary money to purchase this equipment.
