The Dress That grows 1 size Help Me Clothe Needy Children
Organized by: Stefanie Lamb
I am hoping to make these dresses for Children that are in a poverty area (3rd world Countries) As well as for Needy children in the USA.
The man who made the shoes that grow in size inspired me to come up with a dress that grows in size. I love sustainable living and why not start doing it with clothes!
I intend to make as many dresses possible and send them to the 3rd world countries and to needy children in the USA as well.
The dresses don't require much fabric. The smallest size dress uses 2/3 yard. The largest dress uses 1yard of fabric. The Velcro is very cheap and is 88cents a roll. I always look for fabric that is discounted. Sometimes I can buy 2 yards of fabric for about 2-3 dollars.
The Cost of 1 dress is about 5$
Shipping costs are going to be where the most money is spent. I have the amount at 1,000$ hoping it will be enough for dresses and shipping.
The more money I receive over my goal amount will go to buying more fabric and shipping more dresses.
The concept of the dress: I have made an extension piece that velcro's to the bottom of the dress making it the correct length for the larger size.ex(from a size 3 that grows to a size 4). The width does not change much with this style of dress; and with the bigger sizes I can use fabric that stretches (spandex cotton) mixes.
Thank You very much!
