THE STORY:

Mission: To cultivate healthy communities through nutrition, land stewardship, and fine arts education for all ages and abilities.

Vision:
1) To make health and food security accessible to everyone through education, farmer’s markets, community gardens and activities.
2) To make the fine arts accessible to everyone through education and events.
3) To build strong communities through the shared investment of community gardens and activities.

Phoenix, Arizona is a desert in more ways than one. We live in a place where temperatures can be over 100 degrees any time of the year and the level of food insecurity is extremely high. Traveling miles without reliable transportation can be difficult even in the cooler months, but deadly during the heat of the summers. Bringing organically grown, nutritious foods closer to communities that need it, at affordable prices is part of the foundation of our mission. Additionally, we are striving to make painting, photography, dance, and other fine arts accessible to these same communities. This is important to us because of the elimination of art and music programs in schools, as well as art becoming attainable only to those with the means. Therefore, we also want to be a resource for school field trip programs in the surrounding districts through educational programs for school children.

Our mission involves becoming a community center in which at-risk communities can gather under the umbrella of education, the arts, sustainability, and nutrition principles. We seek to root our activities in the community, to serve their unique needs and continually improve by evaluating effectiveness and community impacts. This will allow us to be successful in any community that we spread to. It is our long-term goal to expand to areas in need nationwide. However, creating a strong organizational foundation, sound management, fiscal responsibility, and community involvement are the main concerns prior to expansion.

Based on these priorities, we have assembled a team of educated and motivated women to serve as our board of directors. Each of the women we have selected offer exceptional skills in management, fine art, nutrition, health education, finance and more. We rely heavily on the expertise and experience of these individuals to address the unique needs of our prospected community. We are currently drafting our business plan and market analyses, so that we may not only select the perfect location for the greatest impact, but so that we can tailor our programs to meet the needs of the most people in the community.

We want to serve the at-risk community and hope the online community can help us afford the paperwork necessary. Please help us form our nonprofit corporation so that while we are striving to achieve our missions, we can make donating easy for those that wish to help us continue to grow and prosper.
