We understand that everyone has their own journey.  Our learners come from all walks of life and have experienced various paths that have led them to our door. It's tough, overcoming the odds of returning as an adult learner. Getting to our door takes courage.

There are many, hold on... let's be honest, there are always obstacles in the way. Once here, going back to taking courses and balancing the responsibilities of both a family and one, maybe two, maybe three jobs takes resilience.

Every person is valued, respected and has the potential to achieve their goals. We see that potential, listen to their goals and commit ourselves to nurturing confidence and building self-value by finding the resources that they need to overcome whatever life obstacles may be in the way of their educational and career goals.

When we see our learners graduate or succeed in completing a course we are humbled. It is remarkable to know where our learns have been, how far they have come with our help and most importantly, where each is going beyond our doors. The relationships created here last a life time. We recently held a student, staff event and it was heart-warming to see the amount of hugs and smiles and hear stories of achievement. This is exactly what drives us to continue doing what we do.

As much as possible, every spare dollar we have is given right back to our learners in the form of scholarships and support for materials so they can succeed. Sometimes $30 is too much for a learner to spare. They come to our doors with hope, but may not have the necessary resources to pay for even the minimal amount we charge.

Our mission statement is simple: Empower diverse learners to achieve academic success. We seek to enhance the quality of life and create a healthier, more engaged communities by serving learners with varying abilities, backgrounds and goals.

Just like our learners, as a non-profit, our journey is one of strength and resilience. We are strong and resilient, but have many challenges ourselves. The majority of our funds are received from the state government. Although this is wonderful for us, it keeps our heads just barely above water.
