BENEFITING: THE ELIZABETH HOUSE FAMILY LIFE CENTER INC
Although libraries and youth centers exist in many neighborhoods, there are far to many communities that lack resources or provide adequate access to a diverse suite of technologies and professional expertise necessary to help young people develop 21st Century skills needed to compete for and secure work/job or higher education opportunities in a global marketplace. The eHouse Technology and Innovation Center is designed to offer solutions to this problem through the launch of a resource rich facility that will be housed and accessible to older youth from low income communities and disadvantaged households.
The Elizabeth House Family Life Center is reaching out to members of the community to share our plan to open a technologically rich community-learning center that will provide older disadvantaged youth with access to computer, Internet and digital media technologies used to teach new 21st Century skills and disciplines that will prepare them to become more productive and competitive when pursuing higher education and work/job opportunities in a global society.
We are a small nonprofit in existence since January 2006, serving older youth (ages 15-24) living in New Castle County, Delaware, and primarily those who have dropped out of school and face many barriers to finding meaningful employment. Our new Technology & Innovation Center will be located at One West Market Street in the town of Newport, west of the City of Wilmington, Delaware where we will offer various education, entrepreneurship and workforce development programs. Although our plan is to lease this standalone 5,000 square foot building over the next five (5) years, funding is needed to help us renovate the space, furnish and outfit work areas with various types of computer technology and electronic equipment while providing a productive environment for learning and collaboration.
Our goal is to raise Thirty thousand ($30,000.00) dollars over the next few months to ready the new space for a September 2014 opening. Would you please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support our cause? Thank you so very much for your generosity and support of this worthwhile cause? The contribution you make will help us serve hundreds of young people each year that otherwise would not have access to these types of technology resources in their community.
We truly appreciate all your support and hope to hear from you soon!
