Hola! My name is George Diaz. I’m one of 50 runners who are going The Extra Mile this fall to collectively raise $10,000 to make this vision a reality. I’ll be running the Xela/Quetzaltenango 21K on November 11th, and I’m inviting YOU to sponsor my run. My goal is to raise at least $200. Sponsoring is easy, and you can donate right here on Crowdrise.
I am an Engineering student working for the number one employer in Guatemala, Transactel. Here is where I found out about Champions in Action and the wonderful job that they are doing for our youth. I took this as an opportunity to give back to my country as I truly believe that, as Christians, we are God's legs and hands here on Earth to fulfill His purpose and to show and portrait His love for his sons. I have been a runner (and triathlete) for the last 10 years, usually 21k and 10k races. I have always enjoyed spending time by myself; running is a great way to do it and that is why I enjoy it so much. Running is a great way to listen to your body (and listen to God too!)
You can sponsor me in one of three ways...
1) The fun option: Make a “per mile” pledge (50 cents, 1 dollar, or more!) for each mile that your runner trains leading up to the race. You can also pledge a “bonus” amount if your runner beats a personal record (or some other goal) on race day.
2) Pledge to donate a specified amount after my race.
3) Simply make a donation beforehand. Our goal is to have $10,000 raised through Crowdrise by December 31. Each runner will raise $200 (or more!), and these funds will be MATCHED in Guatemala, which means every dollar donated goes twice as far.
Contact Jeanyne Walker (email@example.com) if you or someone you know would be interested in running or helping to fundraise. Together, we can go The Extra Mile so that teens can experience the lasting physical and social benefits of mentorship and soccer.
Champions in Action is a 501(c)(3) organization in the United States and a registered non-governmental organization in Guatemala.
