Hi there! My name is Pedro Rodriguez, and I’m running a marathon to help Champions in Action launch the first-ever premier national soccer league targeting disadvantaged youth in Guatemala.
I’m actually one of 50 runners who are going The Extra Mile this fall to collectively raise $10,000 to make this vision a reality. I’ll be running the Monterrico Beach 30k run on September 22rd, and I’m inviting YOU to sponsor my run. My goal is to raise at least $200. Sponsoring is easy, and you can donate right here on Crowdrise.
You can sponsor me in one of three ways...
1) The fun option: Make a “per mile” pledge (50 cents, 1 dollar, or more!) for each mile that your runner trains leading up to the race. You can also pledge a “bonus” amount if your runner beats a personal record (or some other goal) on race day.
2) Pledge to donate a specified amount after my race.
3) Simply make a donation beforehand.
I have ran half marathons for 3 years and I like to run for fun with my best friends. After a medical evaluations, 2 year ago, I had an ACL surgery. After a couple of months of recovery, I am back into running on the streets again. At this time I am preparing my body and mind to run a marathon for next year.
I was so exited when Champions in Action contacted me and told me about the organization they have here for people in my country so I decide to help doing what I like to do... RUN!!! =) I am also apart of CoolRunners GT Team. I believe in the mission that Champions in Action has in Guatemala and I feel blessed to help in this adventure.
Our goal is to have $10,000 raised through Crowdrise by December 31. Each runner will raise $200 (or more!), and these funds will be MATCHED in Guatemala, which means every dollar donated goes twice as far.
Contact Jeanyne Walker (email@example.com) if you or someone you know would be interested in running or helping to fundraise. Together, we can go The Extra Mile so that teens can experience the lasting physical and social benefits of mentorship and soccer.
Champions in Action is a 501(c)(3) organization in the United States and a registered non-governmental organization in Guatemala.
