To eight-year-old Sadie, Kidstop means a fun environment to escape to when things get rough; it means a safe place to keep her mind off of things at home. In August, Sadie lost her mom to cancer and it has been anything but easy for her. She enjoys coming to Kidstop every day because it has helped her through her anger and sadness. She looks forward to homework help, and she has improved greatly in school even receiving a perfect score on her math aptitude test. This is an achievement reached only by six other students in the entire school. When asked about staff members at Kidstop, she happily replies that staff are very nice and she can talk about anything with them - even serious issues. Sadie loves to become involved with team activities. She likes to interact with her friends after school. Without Kidstop, being with peers her age outside of school would not happen nearly as often as it does now. Living with her father who works hard and late everyday leaves little time for play dates. Kidstop gives her a chance to be with friends. It is what she looks forward to every morning and afternoon.
