At a time when many of us are celebrating holidays with gifts and yummy food and family, we thank you for taking the time to consider helping us change the fate of over 45 million slaves in the world today, the victims of human trafficking who don't have any of those luxuries during the holidays.
"Operation Big Sister" is a true story inspired by 85 anonymous Icelandic women, representing average everyday people from all walks of life who instigated a successful sting operation to deter human trafficking in Iceland.
In March of this year the Fyera Foundation and Pathways to Peace attended the UN 60th Commision on the Status of Women and hosted a panel discussion about Operation Big Sister expressing how media plays a role in perpetuating human trafficking and can be used instead as a solution to help stop it. You can watch the video our panel discussion here on the left when you click the right arrow under our cover photo.
We intend to send another delegation to the March 2017 UN Commission on the Status of Women, bringing law enforcement as well as NGO leaders from our team to demonstrate how government agencies and ordinary citizens are working together to intercept demand as a key way to end trafficking. In addition we are building a digital platform for action that will provide resources to anyone, anywhere, with an internet connection, to do their part free of charge to put a stop to what President Jimmy Carter has called "the greatest human rights violation in the history of human kind."
You can help us achieve all of that and more with your donation to Operation Big Sister!
