THE STORY:

You are so wonderful for even reading this! Thank you.

You may know that my name is Lauren and I am creating an LLC called The Granny Nanny to provide in home care to the elderly and disabled, so that they may stay in their homes and carry on their lives with peace and dignity.

The purpose of this fundraiser is essentially to raise the amount of money needed for a down payment for my insurance plan as well as its first month's bill, which comes to a total of $600.

I know this is a lot, but it comes with incentives!! We ALLLLL love incentives!

A $10 donation will win you any one of the following: A tarot reading (estimated time, 30-45 mintues); an hour of babysitting; a plate of chocolate chip cookies;

A $20 donation will win you one of the following: a plate of homemade cookies (examples: pumpkin, oatmeal apple, earl gray--the more advanced kinds of cookies, pick any kind) or a pie; help organizing a cluttered room in your house; I can knit you a scarf; 10 oz homemade bath salts; an hour-long reiki session

A $40 donation will win you any one of the following: 3 individual lawn mowing sessions provided by moi! (lawn mower you'll have to provide); a homemade purse; a margarita party at my house

A $50 donation will win you any one of the following: I will clean your entire house--top to bottom!; I will cook you a 3-course meal that we can share together if you like!;

A $60 donation: Heck! What would YOU like me to do? Surprise me! You want my first-born? Ew, take it!

A $70 or more donation will win you: the fact that I will never, ever forget you ever! ALSO: This donation will win you the guarantee that I will pay you back. Cause, who donates $70 to anything? That's ridiculous, and I won't accept! But I will gladly and graciously borrow it. Thank you so much for even considering it, really.

If you are interested, this is where I explain why this business is so important and essential to the world:

Scammers, falls and injuries, medications and their side effects, trouble seeing, trouble hearing, the inability to move or walk or drive are examples of the easier side of my clients' days. These are mere hassles in comparison to their fear of tomorrow.

My clients see themselves losing their strength and dignity a little more each day. They see themselves lose their cognitive abilities a little more each day. How are they going to make it through the day is one of their most commonly asked questions. They also ask: How am I going to stay in my home?

Many are alone, and those who are not alone still feel alone, for many reasons. Their friends and loved ones die, they become more isolated with their lack of mobility, and the families who care for them are burned out and feel frustrated that they can only do so much.

Home care has been shown to improve the quality of life in patients of any age, because it provides comfort and stability throughout the healing process. It provides for the patient the notion that even though they are ill, they are still in control over their own life in a way that is just not possible in a long-term care facility.

To protect the quality of life of our elderly comrades is the ultimate mission of the Granny Nanny. As a caregiver, I have helped people with varying degrees of dependence. Some of my clients just need help fighting loneliness. I help brighten their day by listening to their stories while we work on a project or game together. Other clients have been the essential definition of dependent. I have even worked for hospice cases.

My experience has shown me that there is not one person who does not need, and what people need most of all is love and respect. Everyone deserves to live and die having been loved always. It is essential to our sanity and our will to continue on. I am daily encountering individuals who have spent their whole lives loving and caring for others and who now have no one to care for them.

So what your donation will go to, should you feel the desire to participate, is business insurance, so that I can finally get out there and be The Granny Nanny that the world needs me to be!
