The Great Agency Adventure
Organized by: Steve Taylor
EVENT DATE Apr 21, 2014
As many of you know, this past December I embarked on a 14-month trip across the country. This project, known as The Great Agency Adventure, is an opportunity to highlight and showcase some of the most creative and inventive advertising agencies this nation has to offer. While funding for the project comes from a variety of sources, I have currently found myself in a situation that requires me to ask for your help one last time. I don't take fundraising lightly, so I want to make sure I'm as transparent as possible with the situation. So, here are the in-depth details:
The unexpected expenses include:
A very large 2013 tax bill from the project's initial fundraising.
The need for housing in Austin and San Francisco.
Higher than expected housing costs in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Unforeseen transportation costs in several upcoming stops.
While I am willing and able to cover these costs on my own over time, an issue arises due to time constraints, since housing has to be booked far in advance. I have no qualms in bearing a majority of the debt incurred by this project as it was my idea and is mine to make or break. However, after crunching numbers, I simply do not have enough available credit to cover all these needs in the time period required.
Whether you're able to give or just spread the word, I truly appreciate the support of each and every one of you. None of this would have been possible without your support. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I'll never forget the generosity you've shown me along the way. I cannot stress enough how overjoyed I am that so many people continue to be interested in and support this little project of mine.
I am forever indebted to you. Thank you always,
