Guernica Collective

Our name draws direct inspiration from the historically relevant painting entitled "Guernica" by Pablo Picasso. Picasso, through art, not only brought international attention to the atrocities of war, but more importantly celebrated the beauty of life. Through this critically important work of art, we are reminded that hope exists and will prevail despite contrary circumstances.

Thus, the Guernica Collective utilizes art in its' many forms, from installations to original musical compositions, in order to raise visibility for select social campaigns across various sectors that we fundamentally believe will positively impact society, by directly impacting change within audiences. In order to drive inherent social change, individuals must be empowered at a personal level. We challenge the current mode of raising social awareness by creating projects that facilitate effective audience engagement.

Through the initiatives we curate, we collaborate with artists across multiple disciplines to bring dynamic live environments to the individual. Our inaugural project will focus on anti-human trafficking. We believe this issue is a social epidemic that is global in nature and goes beyond political and geographic boundaries. To resolve such an embedded societal dilemma, a resolution must be identified. The central focus of this project is to leverage art as a platform to communicate to audiences the evolving face of these victims and the distinctive repercussions of this problem. Ultimately, we look to inspire individuals to collectively identify a sustainable framework to end human-trafficking.

Significant change is drawn from inspiration and art is the medium that can inspire the world.
