The PEARLS Foundation is a 501 c 3 organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The Foundation’s mission is to implement programs that provide opportunities for educational advancement and quality of life improvements for the citizens of Central Arkansas. Founded in 2009, the Foundation’s resources are used to fund college scholarships, health, economics and other educational programs focused on strengthening families and improving the academic standing of underserved youth in Central Arkansas. The Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars to over 40 high school and college students through the Dr. Phillis Nichols Anderson Faith Based Scholarship to assist them in pursuing a higher education.
Over the years, the PEARLS Foundation has been involved in many social justice issues. That work includes assisting in eradicating poverty, promoting mental health awareness, supporting domestic violence shelters and homes for foster teens, supporting reentry programs for women and providing loans to further the economic development for women living in impoverished countries. The PEARLS Foundation has supported the National Association of Mental Health; the Arkansas Food Bank; local schools with our high school mentoring program, Our House, the Derek Lewis Foundation, Women in Transition, Simone’s House, Kiva, and the Heart Association with service and monetary donations.
