Peaceful Meadows Farm
Organized by: Luke Hensel
Hi my name is Luke. My grandparents built a new life in America after fleeing their war torn country in the 1950's. Once here, they worked many years in blue collar, industrial jobs and finally saved enough money to buy a small, self-sustaining farm that they "retired" to. Truth be told, they each continued to work hard on that farm until the day that they each passed away. They grew and raised organic, cage free food. Or as they would simply call it "Food".
It's been a little over a decade and and a half now since both of them have passed, and I now find myself returned to my childhood hometown, living in, and repairing their 1800's farm house. My desire is to revive the farm itself again though - this time with a new goal - to not only provide organic, sustainable agricultural and healthy livestock for my own family, but also for others. My pledge is to donate a minimum of 10% of all proceeds and profits to local food banks, non-profits, community groups, and other charities FOREVER - not for a 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, ect as some others do. Funding is required to provide needed equipment, inspections, licensing, soil testing, starter products, marketing, shipping, local/state taxes, fees, loan payoffs, ect. Supporting our project will also protect approximately 40+ acres of green space, wooded areas, and wetlands.
Please help me to rebuild and revive our small, local, family owned farm, so many of which have fallen by the way-side throughout much of our country but are striving to make a comeback. We need clean, healthy food and so do those less fortunate.
