EVENT DATE: Apr 25, 2015
Did you know that in 2014, the Community Action Center in Sewanee (CAC) gave over 3000 meals to those in need? Or that the Food Ministry of Morton Memorial United Methodist Church in Monteagle feeds 100 families each month?
Hunger and poverty are real issues here on the Mountain. That is why Monteagle Sewanee Rotary, in partnership with CAC, Morton Memorial, and the Mountain Goat Trail, is sponsoring the 1st Annual Hunger Walk.
Join the 1st Annual Rotary Hunger Walk to raise funds and awareness of hunger and poverty on the Mountain. Walkers will register at 9:00am in Sewanee at the Sewanee Angel Park, and the Hunger Walk will begin at 10:00am with walkers travelling from Sewanee Angel Park to Pearls Café on the Mountain Goat Trail and returning to Otey Parish, a total of five miles.
The Hunger Walk will end at Otey Parish where a complimentary lunch will be served to all registrants.
