BENEFITING: JERUSALEM FOUNDATION INC
What do you think about when you think about Jerusalem? Chances are are many things and many emotions. Old - New, Arab - Jew, Beauty, Tension, Religion, War, Conflict, Sanctuary. For nearly fifty years The Jerusalem Foundation has been driven by the desire to create an open, modern, vibrant and sustainable city. A Jerusalem for Us All. This summer, when tensions were at their zenith and the city was on edge, programs and institutions that are dedicated to keeping the channels communication open and finding ways to have young people, connect, know one another. The Arab - Jewish Youth Orchestra, the YMCA Youth Chorus and the Hand in Hand School all represent the future of this city - and the future of the world.
This spring, 2015, we want to share with you some of the incredible young people, Jews and Arabs, who - despite context and the world around them, have continued to learn together, make beautiful music together, and continue to talk it out and hug it out. Please help us bring the Jerusalem Foundation's Coexistence Caravan to Los Angeles and San Francisco to meet with peers, share their experiences with audiences small and large, and perform together in a series of unique concerts.
Bringing them here is not simple: Finding the right timing given the different schools vacations for Arab vs Jewish school systems, obtaining visas for the students to travel, chaperons to accompany them; families for them to stay with, not to mention airfare, food and ground transportation.
Let us help them spread positivity and hope for the city of Jerusalem and the world. Donate and help us bring the Alpert Music Center's Arab - Jewish Youth Orchestra and the YMCA Youth Chorus to Los Angeles.
