The Jimmy McDonough Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists local cancer patients who may be unable to work while going through treatment. Jimmy McDonough lost his battle to cancer in 2005. Although he was fortunate enough to have the financial ability to cover his medical bills as well as the emotional support from his friends and family, many who are stricken by cancer do not have those types of support. As Jimmy was also an avid runner, it only makes sense to raise money for his cause through a half- marathon. Money raised from each runner will go to help those battling cancer pay for medical bills, rent, mortgage payments, heating oil, and wigs, among other expenses. All proceeds will go towards helping those in need. Please participate in some way, whether it be donating or signing up for the race and helping us raise money.
