When Nick was 6 weeks old, we discovered he was profoundly deaf. At the time, we weren't really sure what his future would look like. How would we communicate with him? Would he be able to go to a mainstream school?
Not quite three years later, Nick is thriving: He talks to us nonstop, loves to sing and play music and is a social butterfly at school.
All of this is possible because of his cochlear implants and the amazing staff at Clarke who taught him how to use them to their full benefit (and taught us how to help him do so). Our family owes it all to Clarke and I know Nick absolutely not be where he is today without everything Clarke has done for us.
Clarke has a generous financial aid program that helps ensure no child misses out on attending Clarke due to lack of money. But that aid has to come from somewhere and that's why we're walking on May 21st.
Please consider joining us at the walk or making a donation to help support this incredible school. No amount is too small.
