2012 Run for Rwanda
Although, I am unable to join the Komera Team in Rwanda this year due to my new baby girl, Luna, we will be there in spirit, running for girls' education!
On May 25th, the Komera Team, plans on running with over 300 girls in Rwinkwavu, Rwanda to celebrate girls education and empowerment and Luna and I will be cheering "Komera! Komera!" from Vancouver. Komera means "be strong, have courage" in Kinyarwanda, the offical language of Rwanda.
Some members of the Komera Team are then going to run the Kigali Peace Half Marathon on May 27th to continue to raise money and awareness for this great cause!
In moral support of these efforts, Luna & I hope to raise enough money to sponsor at least three more girls for an entire year of secondary school. A girl's life can be change for just $500 a year. However, every lil' donation helps with school supplies, uniforms, etc.
