BENEFITING: CALLING THE CIRCLE FOUNDATION
HOURS PLEDGED: 2
// THE BACKGROUND //
Since the 1990s, a spontaneous resurgence of circle practice has brought the power of circle to collaborative conversations. The Calling the Circle Foundation (CtCF) was formed in 1998 to support this resurgence.
The CtCF is now dedicated to helping preserve and transmit the legacies of pioneers who led the way in establishing circle process as a collaborative norm.
Through the Circle Carriers Legacy Project, the CtCF has selected two circle pioneers, Ann Linnea and Christina Baldwin, founders of PeerSpirit Circle Process, to be featured in the first interactive digital legacy.
This multimedia, web-based resource center will be designed to provide helpful, and inspiring circle training to people facing the challenges of the 21st century.

// MEET ANN & CHRISTINA //
Christina Baldwin is a founder of the journal writing movement and Ann Linnea is a pioneer in environmental education. When they met in 1991, Christina wanted to motivate journal writers to get out in the world and take action; Ann wanted to help activists get inside themselves and discover their core strength.
The two women began calling these two groups together for workshops. They sat down in circle. They noticed the shape of their teaching was literally shaping people’s experience.
This became the seed of a 20+ year contribution toward shifting the paradigm of communication and decision-making. Their work teaching, consulting and writing about PeerSpirit Circle Process, is foundational in a global shift to collaborative conversations.
When we change the chairs we change the world.
Yes. Changing the chairs is a significant shift, and the social structure of collaborative conversation needs to be understood and practiced.
This is the genius Christina and Ann have offered from Anchorage to Miami, Vancouver to Halifax, Melbourne to Cape Town to Frankfurt …
PeerSpirit Circle is a culturally inclusive participation wheel that is applicable in any setting where people have the courage to change the chairs and change their world.
Based on this personal experience, these two pioneers are ready to embed their knowledge in the multi-dimensional digital world. They are working with the CtCF so that their learnings can be passed on as a wisdom tradition that serves the coming generations.
Ann and Christina are ready to evolve the circle to meet the future.
