Hey everyone, a few weeks ago we got wind of our friend's younger sister's condition, which has increasingly worsened these past few weeks.
Paula Olivia Ruiz has a rare type of cancer called Synovial Sarcoma. Synovial Sarcoma is a type of soft tissue sarcoma. Soft tissue sarcomas are cancers of the muscle, fat, fibrous tissue, blood vessels, or other supporting tissue of the body, including synovial tissue. Synovial sarcoma is very rare.
Three years ago, Paula delivered her 3 year old son Zachary. In what was to be a joyous occasion turned into sudden concern. After doctor's performed a C-section on Paula, her leg swelled up twice it's normal size. Doctor's began to perform tests which lasted from August till November of that year. It was then that they discovered it was Cancer.
During this time, Paula was unable to walk. The original tumor they discovered was surrounding the nerves that control leg movements. When they discovered this tumor, Paula underwent chemotherapy. Although, her cancer was in remission for 2 years, it has returned and has spread to other areas of her body, such as her bladder and her lungs. Her mother, whose love for her daughter is constant and never flailing has had to quit her job in order to remain by her daughter's side.
Doctors do not know how long she has to survive since Chemotherapy did not work in eradicating the cancer, which is in it's advanced stages.
This is why we need your help. Please donate as much as you can give, to help this young mother beat this rare Cancer and give her a chance to remain with her 3 year old son Zachary and 12 year old daughter Katelyn, who very much need their mother.
