The LiveLikeLou Spin-a-Thon Presented by Hefren-Tillotson
EVENT DATE: Nov 19, 2016
This year, we're putting a new spin on the LiveLikeLou Bike Ride with the LiveLikeLou Spin-a-Thon!
On November 19th, 2016 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM, spinners will meet at the Lauri Ann West Community Center (1220 Powers Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238) to see who can ride the farthest to raise money for LiveLikeLou!
Teams of up to four people will register for the two-hour event. Riders change every fifteen minutes. Volunteers will record the distance for each team, and at the end of the event, we'll announce the winners in both distance and fundraising! Each team is required to raise a minimum of $500.
Stick around at the end of the event for the annoucement of winners & lunch!
All proceeds benefit LiveLikeLou.org.
LiveLikeLou.org, a donor advised fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation, was founded in 2011 by Neil & Suzanne Alexander after Neil's diagnosis with Lou Gehrig's Disease. Since then, LiveLikeLou.org has sought to raise awareness of ALS, to work towards finding a cure, and to provide care and comfort to ALS patients in Western Pennsylvania. In February 2015, LiveLikeLou.org announced the creation of the LiveLikeLou Center for ALS Research at the University of Pittsburgh Brain Institute. Our dear friend Neil Alexander lost his battle with ALS on March 24th. 2015. Although we are shaken by this loss, we continue onward along with Neil & Suzanne's family to help the next father, mother, brother, or sister faced with this diagnosis. We ride and we fundraise in memory of our friend Neil, and to honor his legacy to "leave ALS better than we found it." Thank you for your support!
