Animal adoption is the BEST option! The Pixie Project has been a love of mine since moving to Portland in 2012. Helping them foster dogs and cats who eventually find their forever homes is a satisfying experience.
I have had one "failed foster" when Thomas and I adopted two adorable kitties who are failing to thrive when they moved in as foster kittens. I remember hearing that they may not make it and now they are roley-poley trouble makers that we love unconditionally. It's ok that we can't have nice things anymore because of them.
In 2010 I met my gal pal Missy who was adopted from Wyoming where I lived at the time. This is where my advocacy for pet adoption began. I have never met more greatful pets than when I have adopted/fostered them. They want love, comfort, and warmth. The Pixie Project helps make this happen and also offers low fees for spay/neuter services. But these services do not come free and they need help from the community to expand the expertise they have to offer!
