BENEFITING: UNION FOR REFORM JUDAISM
EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2011
Jay Mogilner was a father, a husband, and a great friend.
Many of us first met Jay at a summer camp in Wisconsin called Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute (OSRUI), a place where we (and Jay) had very fond memories.
At that camp, there is a unique Hebrew immersion program called Chalutzim, which means "pioneers." It was during this two-month program that most of us learned to know and love Jay.
This program, the only of its kind in the United States, brings young teenagers into a nurturing, dynamic, close-knit environment, which creates an extraordinary, life-long connection between the kids, Israel, Hebrew and the Jewish people.
In thinking about how to honor Jay's memory, we felt it would be appropriate to create a scholarship fund that would assist Chalutzim campers for years to come.
So it is with both sadness and honor that we announce The Jay Mogilner Fund, to benefit future Chalutzim campers at Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
If Jay touched your life, or if OSRUI had an impact on you, or if you seek to support the development of Jewish leaders in the 21st century, we ask that you please give generously to The Mogilner Fund.
Thank you for your support.
