THE STORY:

Hey Everyone!

A friend of mine told me about this wonderful site and how so many people had helped her during her time of need, so I thought I'd give it a try..
My parents, Irma & Pedro, have been married for almost 30 years now, and have lived in this same home together throughout there marriage, which is also where I was born, and raised alongside my sisters. And they are so selfless and willing to help anyone that they even had an "Open Home" policy when I was younger.. where relatives and friends of the family could stay with us as long as they wanted until they were able to get back on their feet. Needless to say, we have so many wonderful memories and attachments to this home:) Eventually my sisters married, moved away, and started their families. And I recently moved into my own place (I'm 28 years old.. I had to fly away from the nest someday:)
My parents, now in their late 60s, we're planning to keep this home as their retirement home. And so last year they retired from the same company they worked together at for about 40 years! But that's when things took a turn for the worst.. My father has had Diabetes for a long while now, and was told a few months ago that his kidneys were only working at 7%. Although he's tried to keep to a strict diet and exercise regime, and has lost a lot of weight, he had to be put onto dialysis because his kidneys were not getting better, and he was always so weak.. and at times would even fall asleep in the middle of a conversation. Every other day he goes in for treatment now.
A few weeks ago I came to visit them at home, but they weren't there.. however there was a paper taped to the door, stating that the home would be going into foreclosure (something my sisters and I hadn't known). My parents have always had a tendency to keep these kind of issues to themselves, so not to burden anyone else. That's just who they are.. willing to help anyone, but never looking for help in return. They're due in court in a few weeks, to either figure out a payment option or begin the foreclosure process. But from what my mother has told me, they don't have the money to make any payments because everything has gone into my father's medical bills (whatever insurance hasn't covered), trips to the doctor's office, fixing parts of the home, etc.. I've given her what I can, but there's only so much I can as I live alone, and almost my entire paycheck goes into rent. Which is why I've started this page.. I'm hoping to raise enough money to either save this wonderful home, or buy a new one for them. Of course, if not enough is raised, my apartment is open to them.
I would really love to do this for them! They've done so much for so many people and have never asked for anything in return.. they really are deserving of this. There's no amount too big or small.. any help would truly be appreciated!
