CARE cuts poverty at its roots. We provide tools for sustainable change to the people most vulnerable to hunger, violence and disease. We work in over 87 countries around the world to support over 900 poverty-fighting development and emergency projects.
One of the root causes of poverty is women and girls' lack of control over their lives. But once empowered by education, economic opportunity or chore, a woman can be a catalyst for positive change in her community. That's why CARE places special emphasis on women and girls in our poverty-fighting work.
You may have already heard of us. We created the term CARE package. CARE was established in 1945 and delivered CARE Packages of food and supplies to war-torn Europe after WWII. These days we deliver lasting change. Learn more at www.care.org.
