THE STORY:
I have worked long and hard to achieve a full scholarship to a university, even though I am a special education student from a low income family. I will be pursuing a degree in mathematics. I am also a fairly gifted oboe student who made alternate in one of the hardest regions of the state this year. In addition to oboe, I sing first soprano and play mallet instruments, flute and english horn. I do not own any of these instruments, either, except my own voice. The oboe is my special instrument and when the school year ends, I must turn in the school oboe I have been playing for the last seven years. Music helps me focus and concentrate. I would greatly appreciate any help as we cannot afford an instrument and the ability to keep playing oboe and even minor in music performance on the oboe would make me so very happy. (Running this for my daughter as she is still under 18 and Crowdrise will not allow her to use-Mom).
Update. I just graduated last night. I have included a picture of myself in my cap and gown with my National Honor Society collar, Honors Cord, and Advanced Placement Merit Cord.
Update: Made a movie of my senior year. The music is my accompanying our church choir this spring in Rutter's "The Lord Is My Shepherd". I hope you enjoy it. BTW, just signed up for most of my classes this spring! Very exciting. Please share my fundraiser. I feel so close.
