The Pineapple Basic School is located in Jamaica. I was there on Vacation when I decided to give back locally. I am a Chef and run a soup kitchen in my home town of Nanaimo BC Canada. I was hoping to go a cook for the children in their kitchen. When I arrived the cooking was underway and I was in shock with how little the women who ran the kitchen had to work with. The school is very small and in need of repairs and paint. Also not a swing or any playground equipment for the 300 students that attend this school. So I am returning with a group of eight people to paint and work at the school as well as bring playground toys and school supplies. Our main focus is to raise money for a stove that will accommodate 300 children. At this time they have a two burner gas element and a broken stove and they work in a building the size of a garden shed! We need to help the school in Jamaica I can only do a school at a time but with the help of crowdrise I am hoping to make this a yearly thing!
