BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
EVENT DATE: Oct 13, 2013
We are running the 2013 Chicago Marathon in memory of Kelly Kearney Gibbons.
For this race, we are going the extra mile (well, actually many, many miles), and we're doing it to help save lives. We have joined the American Cancer Society DetermiNation endurance event program, and are dedicating our training and race participation to help the American Cancer fight cancer and save lives. We are committed to doing the unthinkable, achieving what seems impossible, and changing the course of cancer forever.
Every DetermiNation athlete has their own personal motivation and inspiration for participating, just like every person touched by cancer has a story to tell. This is our way of fighting back against a disease that has taken too much. Please support us by selecting from the list of team members below and making a donation. Or if you're up for the challenge, join our team and commit to train and fundraise along with us. Together, we can help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
Kelly was a firm believer in it's not what you say, but what you do. In honor of her, we are going to commit to raise money and run 26.2 miles for cancer research. Cancer took her too soon from us, so hopefully our contribution will help someone else stay here longer.
