We are thrilled to share this exciting news with you!
We are choosing to adopt a child because...well, we are ready to start a family! In addition to this, we are passionate about adopting due to the growing numbers of orphaned/institutionalize children worldwide. We are looking to adopt a child from China, who is a little older, with some minor medical needs. We realize we are signing up for the unpredictable (in all areas of life). Those of you that have children can easily agree that parenthood, whether adoptive or biological, comes with a level of uncertainty.
In lieu of making our decision a reality, we are requesting some financial assistance in whatever amount you can give. International adoption costs can reach up to $50,000 by the time the adoption is finalized. In Alaska, we are required to work with a local adoption agency as well as an agency that is licensed in China. Our target fundraising goal is $18,000. Holt International, based out of Oregon, is our international agency of choice and Catholic Social Services of Alaska is our domestic agency. We have included Holt's link if you’re interested in learning more about their China program:
We look forward to sharing our journey with you!
Thank you for helping us become a family.
