Our latest rescues Ben & Dori suffer from a rare disorder known as "swimmer puppy syndrome". "Swimmer puppy syndrome" or pectus excavatum is a symptom of an underlying issue such as a brain or heart abnormality which causes them to not develop as quickly as other puppies, which in turn causes them to splay out in a rigor mortis state. Prior to us rescuing Harper in August 2011, little was known about this disorder and most thought the only option was euthanasia. We've now taken in 4 puppies suffering from "swimmer puppy syndrome" and we've become somewhat known for the treatment. The treatment for these puppies requires rigorous therapy such as massage therapy, physical therapy, and especially aquatherapy. Please consider donating to help us with the cost of therapy for Ben & Dori.
