The Episcopal Refugee Network (the "Network") assists refugees who come to San Diego, CA in search of a better life. Refugees come primarily from Burma, Sudan, Darfur and Iraq, although we welcome all refugees who need our assistance.

Refugees are in search of a better life, but it's certainly not easy to find without a little help. Once the resettlement agencies are no longer able to assist refugee families, we step in to provide assistance with language skills, cultural interaction, government aid, enrolling in school, tutoring, delivering food and other household items and many other things.

A lot of the refugee families speak dialects that most government agencies do not have translators for. The Network employs staff that speaks the native tongue of the refugees to help them at doctor appointments or in other circumstances where communication will be an issue. We try and find televisions and VCR's or DVD players people donate so they are able to learn English faster. If you don't speak English in this country, it is almost impossible to find a job!

Our goal is to make the refugees self sufficient. We want each member of every family who comes here to have the skills to work, learn and become productive members of society. We need your help to do it. Please help the Network provide these incredibly important services to the families who need them.
